How the wiki works Every article page has an associated discussion/talk page. Links to are provided above. On top of each page a menu allows to move between article and discussion. In addition, the wiki keeps track and allows recalling all previous versions through the history-tab. The discussion-page associated with an article is titled Talk:<article name>. To move between the pages, use the top-menu or the links on the pages. DO NOT USE THE MENU BAR ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE. Each article and discussion can be edited by any participant. Collaboration tools and methods for GEO India…

First task is to create a space where people can propose contributions or ideas: - Rudy’s suggested Characterize Air Pollution over India subcontinent - developing a prototype air quality decision support system for Indian air quality management activities was suggested for the proposal -

Tools/Methods –

• Meetings/Telecons – the ESIP group meets every other week with telecon where people share ideas
  • Telecon/web meeting – allows displaying the workspace and facilitates the group learning how to use the space.
  • Video chat
• List-serv allows people to subscribe and have a 1-many conversation
• One improvement that we have added is the ability to record and share artifacts.
  • Collaborative Workspace that :
    • Identifies the people that are interested in participating
    • Gives a place for capturing ideas, artifacts
    • Telecon notes,
    • Presentations
    • Projects that the group has done
    • pulls together the resources that the group has already created: papers, presentations, collaborative activities already occurring, discussion from e-mail to web
    • Needs: a curator – someone that is willing to transfer material and encourage the group to use the space.
  • Great thing about the workspace is it’s flexible. Downside is it’s flexible.
  • To keep track of content:
    • For different artifacts we have different templates
    • Presentations,
    • Telecons
    • Datasets
    • AQ Events
    • We use tags in these templates so that we can create lists automatically
