Hi All,
+
Dear AQ Cluster,

I noted in the [http://www.earthobservations.org/documents/aip/20080626_geo_aip2_call_for_participation.pdf CFP (pg 31)] three types of components are identified: data acquistion, data processing and data access.

I updated the draft so that it now includes two community catalogs - one for data access services and the other for processing services/workflows in order to distinguish the two registerable components we would contribute. The AQ Cluster hasn't done any work yet, that I know of, on collecting processing services, so this is open for discussion (on the wiki if possible). Alternatively, we could focus on the data access components (community aq data catalog and dataspaces) for now.

This is to bring to your attention that we, the AQ Cluster, plan to submit a response to the GEOSS Architecture Implementation Pilot (AIP-II) Call for Participation.

Thanks for any feedback-

At the last telecon, Friday Aug. 22, Stefan has presented the first draft of the Cluster response which was then further modified by Erin Robinson and myself. The main purpose of this message is to highlight the fact that this ESIP AQ Cluster response to GEOSS AIP constitutes a significant step toward a more mature, stable and responsible cluster operation. In fact, by our response to AIP-II, we are comitting ourselves to develop and maintain a set of "persistent operational, research and technical exemplars services" (AIP CFP).

ESIP AIP Response - Component Contributions -- Rhusar 16:20, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

Dear AQ Cluster,

This is to bring to your attention that we, the AQ Cluster, plan to submit a response to the GEOSS Architecture Implementation Pilot (AIP-II) Call for Participation.

The essence of the proposed response is an offer from the ESIP AQ Cluster to: 1. Provide an air quality community catalog service, 2. Provide an air quality community portal 3. Provide metadata workspaces for air quality data and processing services.

Since this is a Cluster activity, it would be highly desireable for members of the Cluster to provide feedback before we submit the response Sept. 1.
