Transportation

Getting to Split, Croatia

Transportation: (1) Airport to Split Harbor - bus, ~30 min; (2) Split Harbor to Rogac - ferry or catamaran, ~30-45 min; (3) Rogac to Stomorska -bus, ~30 min

Airline connections to Split

From the airport to the Split Harbor: Croatia Airlines shuttle bus (30KN ~ $6); Taxi (240KN ~ $50)

Ferry connections Ancona, IT - Split:

Bus Connections to Split.

  • Many connections, from Croatian cities, e.g. from Zagreb hourly departures, 4-6 hours travel time. Trst (Trieste, IT) departs 17:30, arrives Split 4:30am, Departs Split 21:30 arrives Trieste 7:30am

Getting from Split to Stomorska, Island Solta

Important: If you miss the last ferry from Split to Solta 21:15 you have to sleep in Split

From Split harbor to Rogac on Solta you need to take a ferry boat or catamaran (faster, passengers only).

Ferryboat schedule:

  • From Split to Rogac (on Solta): 6:45; 9:15; 11:45; 16:15; 18:30; 21:15
  • From Rogac to Split: 5:30; 8:00; 10:30; 13:00; (Sundays 15:00); 17:30; 20:00

Catamaran schedule:

Monday-Friday:

  • Split-Rogac 14:30; 20:00
  • Rogac-Split 7:00; 15:30

Saturday:

  • Split-Stomorska 14:30
  • Split-Rogac 20:00
  • Stomorska-Split 15:15 via Rogac

Sundays and Holidyas

  • Split-Rogac 20:45; 22:15
  • Stomorska-Split 18:00
  • Rogac-Split 21:30

There are two buses meeting the ferry and the catamaran in Rogac. Radni dan= Workday (M-F), Subota=Saturday Nedjelja i Blagdan=Sunday and holiday. Take the bus to STOMORSKA (not Maslinica). The last stop is Stomorska but it stops in Grohote and Nacujam on the way.

The overall time needed from landing at Split (SPU) airport to Stomorska is about 4 hours or more, mainly due to waiting at transfers.

  • Landing, luggage, customs ~ 1 hr
  • Airport bus to Split harbor ~ 45 min
  • Boat from Split to Rogac on Solta ~45 min
  • Bus form Rogac to Stomorska ~40 mins
  • Bus to accomodation ~10-20 mins. If you let your host know which ferry (trajekt) you arrive, the can pick you up at the Stomorska bus stop

Meeting Place: Stomorska, Island Solta, Croatia

The meeting place is Stomorska on the northern shore of the island facing Split. Stomorska (Hundred Seas) is a small town of about 120 year-round inhabitants but nowadays that population swells to many hundreds in the summer. The specialty of the five restaurants is sea food.

The meeting will be held at LeoMar Diving Centre, Stomorska
The participants will be sitting around a table in a 10m x 6m meeting room. Audio/video equipment will be set up for full video communication with remote participants. Coffee and other breaks will be held on the open shaded terrace overlooking the bay. Smaller rooms for possible side meetings are available.

Payments and Currencies

Payments related to the meeting, (lodging, registration fee) need to be in cash. You can use any of the three currencies: Euros, Dollars, Kunas. A receipt will be given for these payments. There is an ATM machine in Stomorska that accepts all major ATM cards. Dispenses only Kunas. There is no bank on Solta. Credit cards are accepted in the major grocery store and the gas station.
