Purpose of clusters, EIE and the ESIP Federation: to cross the Valley of Death! We should be the glue (Death Valley Rangers) between operational systems and users or agencies.

A potential pilot project could be to help Dartmouth researcher to get AMSR-E data pixels automated.

Howard Burrows: Can we develop an environment to make the process faster to do these things? Ben Domenico: UNIDATA has a method to create "live" documents that pulls data and or images and interacts with websites, tools, and data. His examples require JAVA and other high-end apps, can we do these easier or better using web services?

Tom Yunck - we can facilitate something happening by defining goals and deadlines such as a demo at AGU or at the next ESIP meeting. Perhaps foster some nice competition between clusters to produce products, posters, etc. Perhaps a session on "Crossing the Valley of Death". Peter Fox challenged us to give key presentations at his session at AGU. (Informatics)

Dick Wertz -- research doesn't market well. Karen Moe -- Tech Infusion Group lead. Her mission is to help facilitate Chris Chiesa's project to assist disaster agency in Thailand to issue warnings regarding flood events. (including running and analyzing predictive models, possibly the AMSR-E model). They will help. Ben Domenico will help him to get real-time data from UNIDATA. (IDD, LDM systems).
