Background

In order to efficiently develop and sustain any endeavor, a solid foundation must first be built. This section is intended to introduce:

  • Standardized ways of expressing information about the data (Metadata Dialects)
  • How that foundation can be expanded upon to enhance consistency and interoperability in communities that have a variety of metadata requirements, existing metadata dialects, and management systems (Documentation Guidance Methods).
