All Hazards Consortium meeting
- Planning around fall activities
- Workshop with StormCenter and the electric utilities industry.
- Interest in having a set of ESIP members participate, especially those who have disaster response relevant data.
- Workshop is planned for Oct 27th in DC, from 9am to 3pm.
- AHC wants better connections to NASA and NOAA
- Great opportunity for partnership and collaboration.
Data Driven Decision Making (3DM) workshop
- What data use-cases can we provide that already exist?
- What needs exist that we do not *yet* have use-cases for, but for which we could collect new data?
- This seems to be a prominent need in the industry. They were very curious about it.
- There is an idea to do some pre-workshop work to introduce the two groups.
- It would be good to get Tom on the upcoming call to talk about the vision for the workshop.
- The vision here is to have this be a pathfinder workshop, and to duplicate it in the future with different industries in mind.
- Assimilate / integrate feedback on (1) “what does 3DM mean to you” (from ESIP meeting in NC) and (2) other observations from workshops, to create a 3DM framework that can be ESIP branded, and ultimately assigned a Persistent ID (e.g. DOI) that can be traced back to ESIP, which’ll address the question of “how do you measure the impact of ESIP”?
