Lodging
The lodging for the meeting participant will be unconventional and unusual of most of you. Croatia's primary lodging system, is that families rent rooms (sobe) or apartments (apartmani) on their property or attached to their own homes. Private lodging provides almost four times as many beds in Croatia as hotels do. In fact on the island Solta there is no hotel at all, so the lodging for all the workshop participants will be in such apartments. This arrangement offers not only a peek into their family life but also a source of genuine insider advice. The apartments are not luxurious but comfortable and clean.
The apartments may be a Studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom or 4 bedroom units. Most rentals are 2 or 1 bedroom units consisting of a living room with fully equipped kitchen, TV, sofa/bed for kids/or additional person, bathroom with a terrace. Bedrooms have either a full/queen size bed (sleeps two) or 2 single beds. There are few one room studio apartments. There is also a 4 bedroom unit for a larger group. Generally, these apartments are rented for a week, Saturday to Saturday. Shorter periods need to be negotiated with the owner.
