What WSDL is an XML-based* interface definition language that is used for describing the functionality offered by a web service.


Who Developed by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)


Objective Describe the services that are offered and provide a way for users to access the services electronically.


Notes The current version of the specification is 2.0, which is recommended by the W3C


* XML (Extensible Markup Language) defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format which is both human-readable and machine-readable. Although the design of XML focuses on documents, it is widely used for representation of arbitrary data structures - such as those used in web services.
