Understanding Climate change impact on Energy demand and supply, and decision support for planning adaptation and mitigation strategies is one of the highest priorities from national security as well as from national and local government agency’s perspective. It has significant implications both from domestic and international point of view. ESIP could play a major role in bringing together a forum for impacted organizations to provide end user needs, utilities to articulate challenges and requirements to meet those needs, and government and private sector leaders to serve those needs.

There is a now wiki page posted for both the summer and winter meetings. The ExCom had no concerns about the move of the summer meeting from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. Bruce has put together the first iteration for a best practices document for Technical Workshops.  It was also suggested to have one for the Open Meetings as well as one for the Breakout Sessions.

Carol gave a recap of the call with Ann Doucette of the Teacher Evaluator Institute.  Ann suggested a number of suggestions for workshop sessions on evaluation.  This would help our community understand what is valuable to measure and look at and use the information to refine their projects mid-course and to report back to their funders.  For projects that are over a significant amount of time, there is a real call for evaluation.

NSF does have evaluators that evaluate various projects.  Karl is willing to make a couple of inquiries to NSF to see if there is someone who could present.

Products and Services, Decisions and Energy groups will all want to have strands at the meeting.  There are a minimum of five rooms but there is room to grow.
  
There is a need to get a modeling perspective into the mix.  Dean Williams is interested in coming.  Carol has talked with Walt Warrnick who has an interest in coming to the meeting.  OSTI is within Oak Ridge.  There was an early climate cluster that was forced together that only met at one time but never really materialized.
 
It may be that Climate may be too large to take on as a cluster itself but have it more integrated into the other groups. There are several people who are interested in moving this beyond just the meeting.

This was an idea that Chris Lenhardt has been thinking about doing.  He feels there have been a number of recycled posters and that we should begin to judge posters based on some types of criteria and offer an award.  There has been a document that has been created that shows how to make a good poster.

The idea of the summer meeting is to have a 'lite' approach so people can talk to one another rather than a lunch speakerIt will be a buffet lunch.

There is a now wiki page posted for both the summer and winter meetings. The ExCom had no concerns about the move of the summer meeting from Albuquerque to Santa Fe.
