Tom Yunck is PI for the GENESIS (GENeral Earth Science Investigation Suite) ESIP and has been a member of the Federation since its inception in 1998. He has served the Federation in various capacities including most recently as President from 2004-06. He currently chairs the Membership Committee and continues to serve as President of the Foundation for Earth Science.

Tom was instrumental in establishing the Federation's Application Clusters and is keenly interested in seeing those Clusters realize the Federation's ambition of readily infusing up-to-date Earth data products and services and the fruits of Earth science research into effective tools for environmental applications, decision-making, education, and ongoing research. He will focus his energies on helping to apply Federation technologies in the development of demonstration use cases and pilot projects by the Application Clusters.
