EPA (Ireland) Research Fellow at National University of Ireland Galway working on the EPA Transboundary Air Pollution measurement network. This network is comprised of three main stations at coastal sites at Mace Head, Malin Head and Carnsore Point. Continuous operational measurements of a number of parameters are conducted at these sites including Black Carbon, total aerosol number concentration, total aerosol mass (PM2.5), aerosol scattering coefficient (three wavelengths), ozone and, as part of the ICOS network, greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4 and H20). In addition to these continuous parameters, bulk (daily) filter samples of ambient aerosol and precipitation samples are analysed for chemical composition. The data are stored centrally by the EPA and also reported to the EMEP database.
