Random Musings

Identify our common interests and what would be a community "win"

We need:

Quick wins - successes to build an maintain momentum
Excitement - it needs to be cool
Acceleration of the rate of progress
     Build communities of practice
     Build the community knowledge bases
Excellent communications - get the word out, show the successes

A near-term success would be delivery of exciting data in a useable form (e.g., data streams accessible from a Window to My Environment-type user interface)

Then would come the question of sustaining that capability.

Aligning our efforts to obtain greater synergy

Find solutions that are attractive and useful both for:

     Researchers
     "Regular" users; decision-makers

Target some products for the general public; give folks a peek at some of the new data from resources like CloudSat and CALIPSO.
