Back to 2020 Nominations and Ballot

David Blodgett

Dave is a member of the USGS Water Mission Area Integrated Modeling and Prediction Division Geospatial Intelligence Branch. He holds a B.S. in civil and environmental engineering and an M.S. in water resources engineering form the UW-Madison. Dave started his career with the USGS in 2009 with a focus on helping hydrology and ecology modelers gain access to climate and other difficult to work with data sources. He is currently involved in a number of National projects related to water budgets and water availability. Dave is also engaged as a technical leader in the Advisory Committee on Water Information Subcommittee on Spatial Water Data and is a USGS representative to the Open Geospatial Consortium.

I’ve enjoyed helping lead the Information Technology and Interoperability committee through a year of tech dive webinars and activities at the summer meeting. The cross-organizational affiliation and openness of the group is refreshing and it’s an honor to help the coordinate presentations. If re-elected, I look forward to digging more deeply into some ongoing work on linked data, model integration, new OGC standards implementations and more!
