Chair, Data Stewardship Committee
I, Ruth Duerr, am pleased and honored to accept a nomination as chair of the ESIP Data Stewardship Committee. I was the first chair of the group back in the days when it was a cluster and have been a member ever since. In my opinion the group has contributed greatly to the state of the art in data stewardship and I hope to inspire further progress over the upcoming year. I also continue to be a member of several other ESIP clusters and committees, most notably the Discovery Cluster and the Semantic Web Cluster. I've believe ESIP to be an important venue for moving data and data related concerns forward in the Earth sciences.
