We expect to participate in improving standards and best practices for the general community, and also will focus effort on communication with the more specific agricultural research communities we serve. As a government agency we promote activities that align with federal data management policies. As a library we can contribute expertise in scholarly literature, thesauri, and preservation as well as access.

The Northwest Knowledge Network is a research data management support unit based in the office of research at the University of Idaho. We partner with the UI library to maintain a data repository that is also linked to other national and international efforts such as DataONE, Redcap, VIVO and others. We support over thirty different projects with a strong focus on earth and environmental data management and application development. We serve up much of the northwest US regional climate data, air quality data and support several multi-million dollar collaborative efforts with regional Universities, institutes and agencies.

Back to Partnership -- The following applications have been posted for review by the Partnership Committee

February 2024 Class

NASA Science Explorer - Type II

In 2023, NASA invited the Astrophysics Data System (ADS) to expand it's focus into the Earth sciences, heliophysics, planetary science, biological sciences, and physical sciences, giving rise to the digital library portal known as NASA Science Explorer (SciX). Crafted to be as invaluable to Earth science as ADS is to astrophysics, SciX efficiently cross-links diverse bibliographic and data sources, fostering inclusivity and comprehensive scientific exploration. Offering researchers unparalleled access to a wealth of knowledge, SciX actively embraces Open Science principles, indexing NASA's PubSpace, Earth Science journals, preprints, meeting abstracts, theses, data sets, software, and more. Beyond being a comprehensive library resource, SciX empowers researchers with advanced citation metrics and data visualizations to pinpoint potential collaborators, establishing itself as a dynamic resource capable of supporting accessible and collaborative scientific research across all NASA science mission directorate areas.
