OPULS Town Hall:

Under a NOAA-funded project named OPULS (for OPeNDAP-Unidata Linked Servers) specifications for a major upgrade to DAP2 are nearly complete through collaborative efforts by OPeNDAP and Unidata. These specs set the stage for greater coherence between the behaviors of Hyrax (an open-source data server from OPeNDAP, Inc.) and the THREDDS Data Server (a similarly open-source capability from Unidata, also known as TDS), and they also enable extended server functionality. This session includes a status report on DAP4 development, leading to attendee discussion on use cases and other aspects of the new capabilities enabled by this protocol and its implementation in freely available, open-source software.
