I have been ESIP’s Finance chair for the past year, and served on the committee for the two previous years. During this past year of transition from separate ESIP Federation and Foundation to a unified ESIP organization, the Finance Committee has worked with Governance to review and refine ESIP business processes. Processes related to funding proposals from the ESIP community (annual budget requests from ESIP committees and working groups, travel funding for guest speakers at ESIP meetings, and other special projects) have also been included in the overall ESIP processes and procedures.

The Finance Committee is starting work with Erin and ESIP Staff to set up a Broader Impact blog space where ESIP-funded travelers can report outcomes of their trips and interactions with other communities.

I am honored to be nominated to continue as committee chair, and if elected will continue to help with stewardship of ESIP resources following the processes we have set up together.

I’ve been involved with ESIP since the early days of the organization, helping lead the Interoperability Committee (now IT&I) between 1999 and 2002. I have enjoyed seeing the organization flourish over the years, and look forward to continued involvement in its success.
