Generation of an ISO/IEC 11179 compliant Data Dictionary from the PDS4 Ontology

A tool framework that has been configured to develop and manage shared ontologies for science domains. Based on an ontology modeling tool the tool framework tightly couples the ontology to the local science domain data dictionary. The tool framework is subsequently used to generate the schema and content for an ISO/IEC 11179 Data Dictionary. The process for generating an ISO/IEC 11179 compliant Data Dictionary from the Planetary Data System 4 (PDS4) Ontology will be demonstrated. A semantic browser will be used to view the data dictionary content.
