Data Portals

Data Portal Communities organize ad facilitate access to observations or models, maintain data catalogs and visualization tools. Data Portal communities are typically associated with the providers of specific data sets such as satellite observations, surface-base networks or other specialized data sources. Some portals are more user-oriented, catering for the needs of specialized user types such as informing the Public.

Science Teams

Science Teams conduct scientific analyses or perform assessments as part of research project or larger programs. Typically, Science Teams use observations, develop models or theories. The output of Science Teams is knowledge that benefits AQ management or education.

Decision Support

Decision Support Communities provide direct support AQ management, typically aided by well defined procedures an/or tools incorporated into Decision Support Systems. The ingest observations, operate transport models or perform assessments for AQ policy, AQ management or informing the Public.

Facilitators

Facilitator communities, organize, connect, enable or otherwise facilitate the AQ management, science or education. Typically, Facilitators do not 'produce' observations or models. Neither do they provide direct decision support activities.
