Siri-Jodha Singh KHALSA from National Snow and Ice Data Center extracted the attached definitions from ISO documents. This is only a selection. Most of these came from the ISO Concept Database. Others come from unpublished draft documents (indicated with WD = Working Draft or CD = Committee Draft in the document title). In fact, different ISO documents can have different definitions for a given concept, although within the ISO/TC211 191*** series the definitions are usually consistent. I've made a selection of those that most closely reflect the thinking within TC211.
