What

ECS currently provides data ingest, archive and distribution services at three data centers that manage Earth Observing System (EOS) data. It also supports data management for 9 instruments on 7 spacecraft.

Who

Raytheon developed the core components of EOSDIS and has continued its partnership with NASA to maintain and evolve its key elements.

Objective

To support a large amount of data ingested in the ECS system, nominally 2 terabytes per day.

Notes

Due to its success and adaptive ability, ECS will be considered for future missions.
