Whereas, The Federation of Earth Science Information Partners is a unique consortium of more than 110 organizations that collect, interpret and develop applications for Earth observation data and information.
Whereas, the ESIP Federation is an organization which promotes open access data and is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date, science-based information to researchers and decision-makers.
Whereas, the Federation's network fosters collaboration and innovation by bringing together partners to develop models and tools that make Earth observation data and information more useful and accessible across many different communities.

  • It is resolved that the Federation adopts the copyright policy approach created by Creative Commons, which is a nonprofit group dedicated to making it easier for people to share and build upon the work of others, consistent within the commonly accepted rules of copyright.
  • It is hereby declared that the Federation adopts the Creative Commons license, "Attribution No Derivatives" for its website which allows for the redistribution, commercial and non-commercial, of ESIP products as long as it is passed along unchanged and in whole, with credit to the ESIP Federation.
