Plain Language Definition
A CharacterString can hold any collection of characters. If the domain of the CharacterString is freeText it is assumed that the content should be translated if the metadata are translated to another language. Recommended Practice: Do NOT put URLs within CharacterString tags. Use the URL field in CI_OnlineResource instead.
<gco:CharacterString>303-497-6513</gco:CharacterString>
