ESIP WEBSITE COPYRIGHT POLICY Whereas, The Federation of Earth Science Information Partners is a unique consortium of more than 110 organizations that collect, interpret and develop applications for Earth observation data and information. Whereas, the ESIP Federation is an organization which promotes open access data and is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date, science-based information to researchers and decision-makers. Whereas, the Federation's network fosters collaboration and innovation by bringing together partners to develop models and tools that make Earth observation data and information more useful and accessible across many different communities.

  • It is resolved that the Federation adopts the copyright policy approach created by Creative Commons, which is a nonprofit group dedicated to making it easier for people to share and build upon the work of others, consistent within the commonly accepted rules of copyright.
  • It is hereby declared that the Federation adopts a Creative Commons license copyright, for its website design and function (and page content) which allows for the redistribution, commercial and non-commercial, of ESIP website content as long as it is passed along unchanged and in whole, with credit to the ESIP Federation.
  • It is hereby declared that the ESIP webpage has the Attribution No Derivatives copyright and that content copyright for specific products and member contributions would be designated by the author within the Creative Commons spectrum of copyright options.

  • It is hereby declared that partner content contributed to the ESIP Federation website shall fall under one of the Creative Commons licenses wherever possible. Any exceptions to this shall be brought before the ESIP Federation Executive Committee
