Resources

Don't Have Any Knowledge About Tools and Data?

Want to try some out, do some real-time knowledge generation?

Here's what to do:

  1. Get a USB drive from Chris Lynnes with the Panoply tool on it.
  2. Start trying some online data in Panoply. Does it work or doesn't it?
  3. Here are some places to start:
    1. http://acdisc.gsfc.nasa.gov/opendap/
    2. http://daac.ornl.gov/thredds.shtml
    3. http://motherlode.ucar.edu:8080/thredds/catalog.html
    4. http://data.nodc.noaa.gov/opendap/ghrsst/
    5. http://opendap.jpl.nasa.gov/opendap/
  4. Use the Open Remote Catalog part of Panoply for a directory or THREDDS catalog. Does it make a map?
  5. Now try to find the data in GCMD, so we can assign an identifier
