Bio: James Gallagher is the President of OPeNDAP. His background is in distributed data systems and science data systems. James has worked as a staff member at the University of Rhode Island and as a consultant in addition to being a founding member of the not-for-profit OPeNDAP. As a member of an initial group funded by NASA to form ESIP, James has been a part of ESIP from its inception.
Candidate statement: I have been a member of the Financial Committee (FiCom) since 2017. The FiCom has progressed toward making a more formalized and transparent process for funding the ESIP Committees and I will continue that process to ensure that ESIP funds are managed equitably.
