The President of the ESIP Federation presides over the elected Assembly and also serves as Chair of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Earth Science.  The President works closely with the staff director to publicly represent the ESIP Federation with sponsors and other outside organizations.  The President must be a Voting Representative to the Assembly and must be from a different ESIP Type than the Vice President.

Description of ESIP President's Role

The President of ESIP presides over the Assembly and may also serve as Chair of the Program Committee. The President works closely with the Vice President, Executive Director, and other staff to publicly represent ESIP with sponsors and other outside organizations. The President must be affiliated with an ESIP Partner Organization that is in good standing.

The President typically spends about 2 hours/week on ESIP business. The President typically attends the ESIP Winter and Summer meetings. The President participates in regular leadership planning calls (~ every month). The Program Committee meets one hour/month.
