January 2006, Initial Meeting Notes and Action Items
Purpose This cluster was formed to develop the EIE Water Management Portal for the ESIP Federation and to prepare materials to respond to a NASA solutions network or other relevant RFP and to identify funding sources for our activities.
Topic Areas for Earth Exchange Portal Drought Extreme events Pollution Goal: To have something for the portal in time for the Summer06 meeting. Action Items: Learn to input metadata into GOS2 Identify initial set of relevant ESIP products and services from GCMD [Annette] Identify non-ESIP products Assess web-based educational materials relating to the topic(s) [Michelle, John Pickle]
Community Engagement Goal: Develop a list of stakeholders and assess their needs and how we might help. Sample questions: What level of government should we target, (Federal, State, Local)? Who do they get their data/information from? How do we get known by them?
Goal: Partner with the Standing Committee for Community Engagement (SCCE) to begin to build relationships with agencies and other community stakeholders. Action Item: Set up telecon with SCCE leaders, Luann Dahlman (Chair) and Sue Heinz (Co-Chair) [Annette and Paul]
Goal: To have a presence at meetings/conferences attended by stakeholders Action Item: Check out and make list of what those are [no one assigned]
