What

HCLS is a consensus among participating stakeholders in health care and the life sciences domain on the description of datasets using the Resource Description Framework (RDF).

Who

Multi-stakeholder effort under the auspices of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Semantic Web for Health Care and Life Sciences (HCLS) Interest Group.

Objective

Produce a specification for the description of datasets that meets key functional requirements, uses existing vocabularies, and is expressed using the RDF.

Notes

This specification meets key functional requirements, reuses existing vocabularies to that extent that it is possible, and addresses elements of data description, versioning, provenance, discovery, exchange, query, and retrieval.
