The mission of the Space Enabled research group is to advance justice in Earth's complex systems using designs enabled by space. Our message is that six types of space technology are supporting societal needs, as defined by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These six technologies include satellite earth observation, satellite communication, satellite positioning, microgravity research, technology transfer, and the inspiration we derive from space research and education. While much good work has been done, barriers still remain that limit the application of space technology as a tool for sustainable development. We strive to enable a more just future in which every community and country can easily and affordably apply space-enabled technology to improve public services and solve local challenges.

Back to Partnership -- The following applications have been posted for review by the Partnership Committee

February 2024 Class

NASA Science Explorer - Type II

In 2023, NASA invited the Astrophysics Data System (ADS) to expand it's focus into the Earth sciences, heliophysics, planetary science, biological sciences, and physical sciences, giving rise to the digital library portal known as NASA Science Explorer (SciX). Crafted to be as invaluable to Earth science as ADS is to astrophysics, SciX efficiently cross-links diverse bibliographic and data sources, fostering inclusivity and comprehensive scientific exploration. Offering researchers unparalleled access to a wealth of knowledge, SciX actively embraces Open Science principles, indexing NASA's PubSpace, Earth Science journals, preprints, meeting abstracts, theses, data sets, software, and more. Beyond being a comprehensive library resource, SciX empowers researchers with advanced citation metrics and data visualizations to pinpoint potential collaborators, establishing itself as a dynamic resource capable of supporting accessible and collaborative scientific research across all NASA science mission directorate areas.
