Maggi’s Update on Cascadia Rising: Link to Cascadia Rising page

  • National level exercise called Cascadia Rising: First week of June (7th - 10th). Scenario earthquake. Multi-state functional exercise.
  • In partnership with California Earthquake Clearinghouse
  • Will lead to a series of subsequent exercises (e.g. Haywire Exercise in October, Vigilant Guard Exercise).
  • The cluster can observe on Cascadia Rising, and use that as a learning experience to see how we can get more involved, and then apply those lessons in the later exercises.
  • How can we observe? At minimum there will be a webex, but we can also work with the data that results.
  • The JPL team will also be having telecons during the week of the exercise that we can plug into.
  • Info available through xchangecore and spotonresponse (you can sign up for an account on spotonresponse.com).
  • Sean will setup a new wiki page for the Cascadia Rising Project on the Disaster Cluster wiki.

Dave's Update on Geo-Collaborate

  • Making a lot of progress with the fleet response working group.
  • AHC had annual meeting in Philadelphia, where we established a key POC with the weather service.
  • Three day workshop: "Data Driven Decision Making Workshop". Determining what the data requirements are for a given hazard event.
  • Looking at working with financial transaction data in regard to power outages.

Summer Meeting

  • Thursday July 21st, at 2pm and 4pm. (on day three of the meeting).
  • First session: testbed and geo-collaborate activities
  • Second session: Workshop like activities. What to include?
