My name is Meredith Boehm, but you can call me Reid. I've had an exciting and strange career path in the past, my bachelor's degree is from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. I have a BFA in ceramic arts with a minor in poetry. I also earned a massage therapy license and a National certification in 2003. I've worked as a cook, a skating teacher, a caregiver and a vet assistant. Now I have two great positions as a graduate teaching assistant and as a data center intern at ORNL's Distributed Active Archive Center for biogeochemical dynamics. I am currently working with data sets and citations that relate to a network called Fluxnet.I am also working on analysis of Net Primary Productivity data sets from grassland research sites to update and streamline the documentation. I am learning a lot everyday... I am in school in information sciences to study biodiversity informatics and science communication. It is my goal to get my phD and teach at the college level while doing research surrounding federal agency programs and environmental science data sharing practices. This is the summer between my first and second year. I'm in the process of collecting data for my master's thesis, which is exciting and a little daunting. In my spare time I like to hike, do yoga, read, and cook vegan/gluten-free foods. Eating this way has helped with a hereditary, degenerative neurological condition that I was diagnosed with 2 years ago. I have a blog that I share my recipes- If you'd like to take a look: http://reidervegan.wordpress.com/
