The goal of the Information Management Code Registry (IMCR) is the discovery, reuse, and development of code/software to help scientists and information managers of the earth and environmental sciences perform common data management tasks. Many information managers have written code to help format, clean, document, and publish environmental data sets. If this code was generalized and discoverable, it’s reuse could greatly improve the efficiency of data processing for many projects. The IM Code Registry Cluster will support this effort through development of best practices, a governance strategy, review guidelines for submitted code, and by planning for hackathons to populate the registry.
