ESIP COPYRIGHT POLICY

Whereas The Federation of Earth Science Information Partners is a unique consortium of more than 90 organizations that collect, interpret and develop applications for remotely sensed Earth observation information. Whereas, the ESIP federation is an organization which promotes open source data and is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date, science-based information to researchers and decision-makers. Whereas, the Federation's network fosters collaboration and innovation by bringing together partners to develop models and tools that make Earth observation information more useful and accessible across many different communities. It is resolved that the federation adheres to the copyright policy created by Creative Commons, which is a nonprofit group dedicated to making it easier for people to share and build upon the work of others, consistent within the rules of copyright. It is hereby declared that the Federation adopts the license, Attribution No Derivatives for its’ website which allows for the redistribution, commercial and non-commercial, of ESIP products as long as it is passed along unchanged and in whole, with credit to the federation. It is hereby resolved that members who produce content outside of the ESIP website, will adhere to the Creative Commons policy and choose one of the six license attributions that best applies to their work.
